Dear Friends,
This message of welcome and best wishes comes from President Asia Pacific Stroke Organization (APSO) and Chairman Asia Pacific Stroke Conference-APSC 2018 and Co-Chairs of APSC 2018.
It is estimated that currently world population is approximately 7.4 billion. Asia is the most-populated continent, with its 4.3 billion inhabitants accounting for over 60% of the world population. The world's two most-populated countries alone,  China and India, constitute about 37% of the world's population. More than Fifteen million of people annually suffer from stroke worldwide. Almost five million subject suffering from stroke die each year. Out of the survivors almost five million remain disabled. In Asia alone around nine million suffer from stroke annually. More than 600 million people will still be trapped in poverty in 2015, most of them in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Thus, we face a massive challenge of stroke burden in Asia.
To face this daunting task of burden of stroke in Asia Pacific region, we need to bring forward latest research and update our knowledge with advances. Like past APSC, this year conference shall also be rich in academic content with late breaking news. APSC 2018,  is being organized from September 6-9, 2018 (Thursday thru Sunday) at The Sultan Hotel and Residence Jakarta, Indonesia
This conference is being organized by Indonesian Stroke Society (INASSOC) under the supervisor of APSO. The venue is a very impressive with academic ambience activities and in the evening, you can enjoy rich culture of Indonesia.
The Local Organizing Committee spearheaded by the Co-Chairs by dr. Mursyid Bustami, Sp.S(K), KIC, MARS, dr. Yohanna Kusuma, Sp.S, Cert Neurosonology ASN(USA) & WFN-NSRG  The experienced and committed team is working very hard to make APSC 2018, a memorable congress. The congress is likely to be attended by 1000-1500 delegates and number may go up to 2000.
Very interesting scientific program is being laid down by the scientific committee, more than 70 faculty members will be conducting the education program. One step ahead from the previous APSC conferences; as part of my vision and it is envisaged that in APSC 2018 we will have symposia of different regions of Asia-Pacific regions and like Pan Africa and Pan Arab. We will have global stroke educational symposium as part of synergy to get engaged with other regions of the world. The new feature of the conference shall be Clinico-Pathological Conference and Self-Assessment MCQ for Post Graduate
I hope that you will enjoy the academically rich scientific program and carry home good knowledge to apply on bed side for the clinical benefit of your patients.
We expect delegates from different countries of region to participate in the congress. Travel grants and scholarships shall be awarded to the young neurologists from the resource limited countries to attend this congress.

On behalf of the Asia-Pacific Stroke Organization (APSO) and the Indonesian Stroke Society (INASSOC), we extend our warmest welcome to join Asia-Pacific Stroke Conference (APSC) 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The conference is scheduled in 6-9 September 2018.
Jakarta is well known as the capital of Indonesia, was established in the fourth century as Sunda Kelapa . Jakarta grow become one of the largest metropolitan city in the world and recognized as center of economics, culture and politics of Indonesia. The conference program will include a number of plenary symposia, concurrent symposia, workshops covering epidemiology and stroke prevention, acute care therapy and recovery after stroke.

Asia-Pacific Stroke Organization (APSO) was established on 09.06.2009 through the merge of Asia-Pacific Stroke Association and Japan Stroke Forum. The main objectives of APSO are :

  1. To promote and encourage the advancement of scientific knowledge, research and practice in all aspects of stroke.
  2. To promote, encourage, organize the post-graduate training and participate in the continuing education process of other members of health professional organizations in the field of stroke.
  3. To influence the policy for stroke practice and improve the health service.


Asia-Pacific Stroke Organization

Indonesian Stroke Society (INASSOC) was founded in March 1, 2017 to increase the awareness about stroke in our region and to reduce the disability and mortality of our patients at Indonesia. The main objective of INASSOC are :

  1. To increase and educate the awareness about stroke especially for Indonesian Society by making Symposium for the Stroke Society, interactive discussion, participate together with the patients and their families in World Stroke Day, Gymnastic Stroke.
  2. To apply the evidence based medicine in stroke for prevention and secondary prevention by applying this we hope our patients would get the best therapy and reduce the mortality as well as disabilities.
  3. To decrease the disability and mortality of our stroke patients in our society, by routinely educate the patients and family and also doing regularly physiotherapy.
